"We
found Schaferhof by recommendation, and what a great one it was. Not exactly
in Niagara Falls (thankfully!), it's located instead about 20 minutes
away in the beautiful wine country of Niagara (I think the exact town
is Fenwick?). Lore and Dieter Schafer are gracious hosts, offering a warm
family-style welcome and breakfast service, including an invitation to
join them and other guests each night around the firepit for refreshements
and conversation. They have comfortable rooms in their home or - and this
was our favourite - a pair of adjoining suites just steps away. To be
so close to the touristic hubbub of The Falls (and close to Toronto, too),
yet in the serenity of the country (when was the last time you chased
fireflies?) was just a perfect respite."
